Getting started

How long does it take to install and run my first task?
About three minutes. Install from the Shopify App Store, accept the scopes, and you land on the task builder. Most merchants run a dry-run against a small collection in their first session to validate the workflow.
What permissions does the app request?
Read and write on products, variants, and prices. Read on inventory (for cost-based pricing). Read on collections, tags, and Markets configuration. No customer or order data is ever read.
Will it work on a development store?
Yes — and the full feature set is unlocked for free on development stores per Shopify Partner program rules.
Does it support Shopify Plus stores?
Yes, fully. Plus-specific surfaces (Markets, B2B price lists) are supported on the Growth plan and above.

Pricing

What counts as a SKU edit?
Each variant whose price or compare-at price you commit a change to counts as one edit. Dry-runs are free. Rollbacks are free. The counter resets on the 1st of each calendar month.
What happens if I exceed my monthly limit?
The next task is blocked with a notice and a one-click upgrade link. Already-committed tasks and their scheduled rollbacks continue to run. We never auto-charge overage.
Can I downgrade?
Yes, anytime. The downgrade takes effect on the next Shopify billing cycle. Audit log retention adjusts to the new tier on the same date.
Is the Free plan permanently free?
Yes — it is a real product tier, not a trial, and we have no plan to remove it.
Do you offer annual plans?
Yes — every paid plan is available monthly or annually. Annual saves about 18–20% (the equivalent of two months free). You can switch billing frequency anytime from your Shopify subscription settings.

Features

How does the rollback work?
Before each task runs, we write a full snapshot of every targeted variant's price and compare-at to our database. Rollback replays that snapshot — it is not a reverse-percentage calculation, so rounding errors do not compound. If a rollback is interrupted, the next attempt resumes from the last successful row.
Can I schedule a sale to start and end automatically?
Yes. Set the apply time and the rollback time when creating the task. Both run in your store timezone (or any timezone you specify per task).
Can I exclude specific variants in a tag-based sale?
Yes. Combine include rules (e.g. tag=summer-sale) and exclude rules (e.g. sku IN [list], or NOT vendor=Brand X) in the same task. Variant and product exclusion both supported.
Does it support Shopify Markets?
Yes on Growth and Scale. Set per-market overrides — fixed, percentage off base, or rounded to a currency rule. Each market's prior state is snapshotted independently.
Can I import prices from a CSV?
Yes, on the Starter plan and above. Upload columns sku, price, compare_at, and an optional market column. The same dry-run and rollback flow applies.
Does the audit log show who did what?
Yes — user email, timestamp, IP address, and the full task payload. Export to CSV on Growth and Scale plans.

Troubleshooting

My task is stuck at "pending" — what happened?
Click into the task to see the live progress panel. If Shopify is rate-limiting (common during BFCM), we automatically back off and retry; the ETA updates as the throttle window resets. If the panel shows zero progress for more than 10 minutes, email support — we will inspect the queue.
Why did 3 SKUs get skipped in my last commit?
The dry-run output shows which SKUs would skip and why — common reasons are: target price below the configured floor, missing compare-at, product archived during the dry-run-to-commit window, or a variant deleted upstream. Skipped items never leave the audit log.
A rollback partially failed — what now?
Click "Resume rollback" — we replay only the SKUs that did not restore successfully. Because rollbacks are idempotent, re-running is safe and never overwrites a restore that already happened.
Does uninstalling the app stop active schedules?
Yes. On uninstall, active scheduled tasks are cancelled. Prices already changed remain at their current state — we do not auto-rollback on uninstall because that could break a live sale mid-flight. Reinstall within 48 hours restores your audit log; after 90 days data is purged per our GDPR webhook obligations.

Migration

I'm on Hextom — how do I migrate?
Install Price Bulk Editor alongside Hextom. Run any existing Hextom-applied sales to completion (or rollback) on Hextom first. Then create the next sale in Price Bulk Editor — it picks up whatever state your products are in. Uninstall Hextom when you are confident. See the vs-Hextom comparison for trade-offs.
I'm on NA Bulk Price Editor — does the rollback transfer?
No app can read another app's rollback snapshots. Run your NA rollback on NA first to get to your "true" baseline, then create new tasks on Price Bulk Editor. From that point forward, rollbacks are managed by us.
I'm on Discounty — same workflow?
Discounty is a discount/promo platform (it layers discounts at cart-time without changing the product price). Price Bulk Editor changes the product price itself. They solve different problems; many merchants run both. See the vs-Discounty comparison.
Can you import my Hextom / NA / Platmart task history?
Not automatically — Shopify does not expose other apps' task history via API. If you have CSV exports from your previous app, we can import them into the audit log on a one-off basis for Scale-tier customers; email support to arrange.
