Why merchants switched

What broke for them on the other apps.

We read 600+ recent reviews of competing bulk editors on the Shopify App Store. Four failure patterns came up over and over. Price Bulk Editor was rebuilt in 2026 specifically to make each one impossible.

01

Rollback that stops halfway

"It reverted 25% of my store, then froze. I had to manually fix 4,800 SKUs." Every task now writes a full pre-change snapshot before it runs; the rollback replays from the snapshot, not the API.

02

No preview before commit

Dry-run shows exactly which SKUs match your filter, what the new prices will be, and which would fail (e.g. negative price, missing compare-at). You commit only after you've seen the diff.

03

Opaque progress on large jobs

"Pending for over an hour, no insight." Every task surfaces live progress — SKUs done, SKUs left, current rate, ETA, and per-product error logs you can replay.

04

Rigid product / variant exclusion

Exclude full products and individual variants in the same task. Combine include and exclude rules across tags, collections, vendors, types, and price ranges.

Built for catalog precision

Eight things every bulk price editor should do — and most don't.

Preview / dry-run

See the full diff before committing — matched SKUs, computed new prices, items that would fail. No silent batch failures buried in a log file.

True rollback

Every task snapshots the prior state per-variant before mutating. Rollback replays the snapshot — atomic, idempotent, resumable if interrupted.

Schedule sales

Run prices up at sale start, down at sale end. Multiple timezones, optional auto-rollback at expiry, no manual touch on Black Friday eve.

CSV import / export

Upload SKU → new price (or % discount) lists from any spreadsheet. Export the snapshot for audit and finance reconciliation.

Tag & collection filters

Target products by tag, collection, vendor, type, price band, or any combination. Variant-level filtering on option values, SKU pattern, inventory.

Markets & multi-currency

Set per-market prices for Shopify Markets — fixed override, percentage off base, or rounded to a currency rule. Per-market rollback.

Margin pricing rules

Set price by margin (cost × 1.4), by markup tier, or by rounding rule (e.g. always .99). Mix and match across the same task.

Audit log + CSV export

Full history of every edit — who, when, what changed, prior value. Export to CSV for accountants, GDPR requests, or compliance reviews.

Recurring rules

Weekly Flash Friday at 09:00, monthly clearance on the 1st, end-of-season auto-reversion — define once, run forever. Each run still creates a fresh, rollback-able snapshot.

What no other bulk editor does

Two reliability features merchants don't know to ask for — until they need them.

Both are unique to Price Bulk Editor as of May 2026, based on a public review of the seven direct competitor listings on the Shopify App Store.

Drift detection webhook-driven

We tell you when someone manually edits a sale price.

Your sale is running. A teammate spots a typo and fixes a SKU's price in the Shopify admin. An inventory-sync app touches another. The merchandiser updates a third. Without us, the rollback at the end of the sale silently overwrites their work — or worse, restores prices that are no longer correct. We catch every drift via the products/update webhook and surface it as an alert with the variant, the campaign, the price we wrote, and the price that's there now. Acknowledge it or revert it.

Self-healing 3 recovery layers

Your campaigns don't get stuck. Guaranteed.

The #1 complaint in reviews of competing bulk editors is some variation of "my BFCM is frozen, support won't reply, what do I do." We run three independent recovery layers — in-process during the poll loop, every 15 minutes via the stuck-message scanner, hourly via direct reconciliation with Shopify's bulk-operation API. A campaign stuck in RUNNING for more than an hour gets unstuck automatically. We engineer against the failure mode others apologize for.

Honest comparisons

How we stack up against the apps merchants usually try first.

We're not the right answer for every store. Hextom does product editing across many fields, not just price. Discounty is a promo platform, not an editor. We tell you where each one wins, then make the case for switching.

Capability Price Bulk Editor Hextom Discounty
Dry-run preview before commit Yes Partial No
Full snapshot rollback Yes Partial N/A — discount layer
Variant + product exclusion in same task Yes Variants only with workaround No
Live progress on 10k+ SKU jobs Yes — per-batch ETA Coarse No
Best for Pricing teams, large catalogs Multi-field product edits Cart-level promos

Read the full comparisons — we cite where the other apps genuinely win, too.

Merchants on the app

"It's the only one that gave us back the exact prior state."

"We tried three bulk editors before this. Two of them silently failed on our 14k SKU sale. Price Bulk Editor showed the dry-run, ran the job in 18 minutes, and reverted clean on Monday morning."
Maria L. Ops Lead · Apparel · 14k SKUs
"The audit log alone justifies the Growth plan. Finance asked for the BFCM price-change report and I had it in CSV three clicks later."
Stéphane R. CFO · Home goods · 6k SKUs
"We needed per-market pricing for Markets + a rollback that works. This was the only one that did both without a custom export-CSV-re-import dance."

Common questions

Quick answers to what merchants ask before installing.

All 20+ FAQs →
Does the rollback really restore the exact prior price?
Yes. Before any task runs, we write a full snapshot of every targeted variant's price and compare-at price to our database. The rollback replays that snapshot — not a "reverse the percentage" math which compounds rounding errors. If a rollback is interrupted, the next attempt resumes from where it left off.
How fast does it run on 10,000+ SKUs?
On a 12,000 SKU catalog, a typical sale task takes 14–20 minutes. We use Shopify's bulk operations API where it's available and standard Admin GraphQL with rate-limit-aware batching elsewhere. Progress is live: SKUs done, rate, ETA, retryable errors.
Does the free plan let me actually run a real task?
Yes — up to 100 SKU edits per calendar month, with the dry-run preview and manual rollback. Most merchants use it to verify the workflow on one collection before upgrading.
Does it work with Shopify Markets and multi-currency?
Yes, on the Growth and Scale plans. You can set per-market price overrides (fixed, percentage, or rounded). Each market's prior state is snapshotted independently, so a rollback restores per-market values cleanly.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
Active scheduled tasks stop. Any prices already changed remain at their current state (we don't auto-rollback on uninstall because that could break a live sale). If you reinstall within 48 hours, your audit log is restored. Pure data is purged after 90 days per our GDPR webhook obligations.
